The family, relatives and local residents of veteran actor Nipon Goswami’s birthplace, Kolibari Assam’s Tezpur, who came to Guwahati to bid him goodbye fondly recalled his last visit to Tezpur January.

Dr Bezbaruah, directed by my brother Brojens Barua, was a superhit where Nipon da showed marvellous acting skills. I call him Nipon da because he was about seven years older than I.

Nipon da breathed his last at a private hospital here after he suffered a heart attack following prolonged illness. He is survived by his son and daughter-in-law.
