Even though it's been a year since Shohei Ohtani left the Los Angeles Angels to join the Los Angeles Dodgers, his former teammate Mike Trout is nothing but full of praise for him. Recently, Trout came forward to applaud Ohtani's two-way abilities and his impact on the center field.
Mike Trout praised Shohei Ohtani's pitching and hitting abilities
On Saturday, Sportico released an interview with Mike Trout, during which the Angels star praised Shohei Ohtani's two-way abilities. Trout applauded Ohtani as an "incredible" player and how it has been fun watching him play from both ways. Talking about the same, Trout said:
"I watched him do what he does on the mound from center field for all those years. I've never seen a player like him. Not both ways like that. He's incredible. His season was pretty incredible."Moving forward in his statement, Mike Trout explained how everyone knows about the "pretty amazing" capabilities of the Dodgers star. Talking about how Ohtani has maintained consistent numbers throughout his career, Trout explained:
"It was fun to watch and to follow. It was good for baseball, too. Everyone knows what he's capable of. To be able to put up that kind of numbers consistently is pretty amazing."Before praising Shohei Ohtani, Mike Trout talked about his opinion on changing positions from center field to right field. Trout revealed embracing his new position and how he plans on getting comfortable with the same, and said:
"I talked to talk to a few guys, and I'll talk to Torii when he gets here because he did it. There's a lot of guys that move to right field that I'm gonna talk to. Just see the difference and just go out there and get comfortable in spring."Talking about his position change, the
Angels manager Ron Washington recently talked about giving a free hand to Mike Trout, for getting comfortable at the right field. Considering that Trout previously
crowned himself as the "best fielder," it won't take him much time to adjust to his new position. Nevertheless, it would be fun to watch Trout showcase his skills as a fielder in the upcoming regular season.
