'They’re not just add-ons anymore': Why mobile accessories are exploding in popularity, experts explain
Once considered an afterthought, mobile accessories have evolved into a thriving industry, with global market valuations expected to reach $ 148.81 billion by 2030, growing at a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 6.8% from 2023 to 2030, according to a report by Grand View Research.
"Consumers are no longer just protecting their devices, they're expressing identity, improving functionality, and extending usability," says Rajiv Kapoor, an electronics analyst. “The accessory market is riding a wave of personalization and tech convergence.”
"Fuelled by rising smartphone penetration, social media influence, and the shift towards remote work, the demand for mobile accessories has diversified and deepened," said COAD founder Narayan Rathod. "Charging cables, screen protectors, and earphones may still dominate in volume, but new segments like wireless chargers, gaming controllers, and smart wearables are reshaping the landscape," he added.
