The 1920 franchise, known for its spine-chilling horror films, is all set to haunt the audience once again with its fifth installment, titled "1920: Horrors of the Heart." This time, producer and writer
Mahesh Bhatt, along with director
Krishna Bhatt, takes the reins of the franchise and promises an experience that will send shivers down your spine. With a talented young cast and the combined experience of the Bhatt family, the film aims to captivate audiences and reignite their love for horror.
Mahesh Bhatt, a stalwart in the Indian film industry, expresses his excitement and gratitude for the opportunity to bring this film to the big screen.
He says, "This is my fortune that on one side there’s a young actress whom you have seen on TV and on my right there’s a young director who represents today’s generation. I am in this profession for 54 years and
Vikram Bhatt for 35 years. So, we brought together a cumulative experience of 90 years and have handed over our vision to the younger generation to present it to today’s audience through their medium. This is a big opportunity because after COVID, bringing a non-star cast tentpole film to theatres and receiving appreciation from you has made me fulfilled."
Mahesh Bhatt further added, "Vikram didn’t let his guard down during COVID and took a great effort to acquaint himself with a new technology and made this film, which will release on June 23. Our journey so far has been challenging but also exciting. It was challenging, especially during these trying times when audiences are not coming to theatres." But the senior filmmaker was positive about the film's prospects as he said, "The 1920 franchise is a star in itself."
Director Krishna Bhatt, who steps into the shoes of her father,
Vikram Bhatt, acknowledges the daunting task of following in her father's footsteps. She says, "Because Dad is the king of horror, when he suggested that I should make 1920 I was scared that anyway, I will be compared to Vikram Bhatt and but with this move, I’ll be compared to him even more. But when we wrote the story, I felt that I could make it. And when the media persons clapped after seeing the teaser, I felt that I kind of succeeded in making my father proud. I hope on June 23, everyone applauds for me more than they applaud for Dad for horror."
1920: Horrors of the Heart promises to be a chilling cinematic experience. The film features Avika Gor and Rahul Dev in prominent roles.
