Bollywood star
Aamir Khan's most celebrated film, 'Lagaan,' was appreciated by the cinephiles a lot. However, during the shoot, Aamir had several disagreements with director
Ashutosh Gowariker over what he felt was a "lack of logic" in the film. He questioned why his character was clean-shaven in a story centered around water scarcity.
"Where was he getting the water to shave?" Aamir questioned Ashutosh. However, the filmmaker urged him to overlook logic and not worry about such details.
During an interview with Just Too Filmy, Aamir Khan shared, “I had big fights with Ashutosh. I told him that the entire premise of the movie is that there is no water. How is it possible that he’s shaving every day? His fellow villagers would have beaten him up.”
However, Ashutosh Gowariker was more focused on Aamir Khan’s appearance in the film. He insisted that Aamir should maintain his clean-shaven look, emphasizing that he liked how the actor looked on screen and didn’t want to get into the logic of it.
In the end, Aamir gave in but wasn’t happy about it. To compromise, he shaved at night so he’d have a slight stubble by morning. If he forgot, he would get annoyed with himself. However, he wasn’t sure if the audience even noticed.
'Lagaan,' released on June 15, 2001, was a massive success and a milestone in Hindi cinema. While it earned an Oscar nomination for Best Foreign Language Film, it didn’t take home the award.
Meanwhile, more recently, Aamir Khan has officially confirmed his relationship with Gauri Spratt, whom he has known for 25 years. The couple made their first public appearance at a pre-birthday media event, where Aamir introduced Gauri to the press. He revealed that their romantic relationship began around two years ago and that he has already introduced her to his family and children. The news has been well received, with filmmaker Vikram Bhatt supporting their relationship, stated about how relationship changes for a person with time with Etimes, he said, “Well, if I can get married at 50, why can’t Aamir Khan find a partner at 60?” he also emphasized that age is just a number when it comes to happiness. They added that as people grow older, relationships shift from excitement and attraction to companionship and the desire to avoid loneliness.
