VIJAYAWADA: Chief minister and YSRCP supremo YS Jagan Mohan Reddy on Monday asked the party leaders and cadres to gear up for the upcoming assembly elections in the state. He said that the elections are likely to be held in March, with the party planning to announce its manifesto in February.
Addressing a mammoth session of party leaders and cadres here on Monday, chief minister said that YSRCP will go to the battle alone without any alliances.
“I have never depended on alliances to win elections. I have depended on people, party cadres and God. We will come to power once again with massive public mandate,” said Jagan.
He said that the party would be launching a new mass contact programme "Why AP Needs Jagan" on November, 1. He explained that they have established a corruption free government in state in the last four and half years.
Chief minister announced that welfare pension would be increased to Rs.3000 from January,1, 2024. He said that they would disburse Rs 26,000 crore through Asara programme from January 20-30.
He said that they have already disbursed financial assistance to women under Asara thrice in the last four years and next instalment would be the fourth one.
Jagan said that they would be granting Rs 31,000 crore to women groups through different schemes. YSR Cheyutha would be implemented from January, 10 to 20 through which Rs 19,000 crore would be disbursed. He said that there would be bus yatra by BC, SC, ST and minority leaders from October 25 to December 31. Chief minister said that next elections would be held between landlords led by the opposition parties and poor people lead by YSRCP.
