Varanasi: Taking cognizance of the recent incident where a 13-year-old boy fell and lost his life after falling into an uncovered borewell at Binda village in Pindra tehsil, and no signage board installed, district magistrate Kaushal Raj Sharma on Thursday issued notice of departmental action against the two engineers of Jal Nigam and LT company.
The succumbed boy Aniket Yadav fell into the borewell while playing on Thursday.

The local residents pulled him out of the borewell and took to a hospital, where he was declared dead.
The matter was investigated by the SDM Pindra. It was found that the borewell was neither covered nor any kind of signage was installed at the site. Negligence of the junior engineer of Jal Nigam, electrical mechanical division office, construction division (rural), Priyanka Yadav and the project manager and site engineer of L&T, BP Raghubanshi was found in the investigation.
The DM said that further legal action will be taken on the receipt of reply to the notice. A certificate of security of borewells of all water projects has also been sought from the Jal Nigam (rural) and L&T.
