Sreevaraham Balakrishnan dies at 93

T'puram: Story writer, screenwriter and teacher Sreevaraham Balakrishnan (M Balakrishnan Nair) passed away at 93, at his home in Thycaud on Tuesday evening. The funeral will be held at Thycaud Shantikavadam at 4pm on Wednesday.
He was an English teacher at Dhanuvachhapuram Government College, Mattanur Pazhassiraja College and Kerala Hindi Prachar Sabha. He worked as a public relations officer at the Kerala Raj Bhavan for 12 years. He was a member of the state govt's film award selection committee twice.
He wrote the screenplay for the film Krishi directed by Adoor Gopalakrishnan for the public relations department. Balakrishnan wrote the dialogues for KG George's Mammootty film Elavankode Desam. He wrote the screenplays for Lenil Rajendran's film Swathi Thirunal, Harikumar's Snehapurvam Meera and Aswathi, directed by Jessy.
