Heavy snowfall, rain likely in Himachal Pradesh today

The Meteorological Centre, Shimla, issued an orange alert for heavy snowfall and rain in parts of Himachal Pradesh on February 20, predicting light to moderate snowfall in tourist spots like Manali and Kufri. Snowfall is also expected in higher regions on February 21. Light rainfall with thunderstorms is likely across several districts, while Tabo recorded a low of -7.3°C.

SHIMLA: The Meteorological Centre, Shimla, has issued an orange alert for heavy snowfall and rain at isolated places in Chamba, Kangra, Kullu, and Mandi districts of Himachal Pradesh today.

As per the forecast, many tourist destinations, including Kufri, Narkanda, Manali, Solang Valley, Dalhousie, and Sissu, are also likely to receive light to moderate snowfall on Feb 20.
The weather department also predicted the likelihood of light to moderate snowfall in the districts of Lahaul Spiti and Kinnaur and in the higher reaches of Kangra, Chamba, Shimla, Kullu, Mandi, and Sirmaur on Feb 21 as well.
Light rainfall, accompanied by thunderstorms and lightning, is also likely in districts, including Solan, Hamirpur, Bilaspur, Una, Kangra, Chamba, Shimla, Mandi, Sirmaur, and Kullu, from the midnight of Feb 20 to Feb 21 morning. Meanwhile, Tabo in Lahaul Spiti recorded the lowest minimum temperature of -7.3°C on Wednesday.
