Meghalaya’s Debasmita selected for Women’s T20 Challenger
Shillong: Meghalaya Cricket Association (MCA) has announced that state senior women’s eam captain, Debasmita Dutta, has been selected to represent India C in the forthcoming Senior Women’s T20 Challenger Trophy. This BCCI tournament will be played in Ranchi from Nov 17.
“Debasmita is a resident of Rynjah locality in Shillong and has played cricket from a young age. She is one of the senior-most players who the others look up to and this feat will only provide further inspiration for Meghalaya’s female cricketers,” an MCA statement said.
This year, Debasmita was named player of the tournament at North East Cricket Development Council (NECDC) 1st Senior Women’s Interstate Friendship T20 Tournament in Nongkhrah, Ri-Bhoi, and was felicitated at the NECDC annual awards in June. She has also cleared the Level A coaching course from National Cricket Academy, Bengaluru.
