25-year-old man stabbed to death in group clash
KRISHNAGIRI: A 25-year-old man was stabbed to death when he attempted to intervene in a group clash near Hosur on Tuesday. The deceased has been identified as M Kamalakannan of Palaniappa Nagar in Hosur. He was working in a welding unit in Hosur.
K Suresh, 25, of Govinda Agraharam near Hosur, married Sowmiya, 20, of Nallur Agraharam, without their parents’ consent. They were also residing at Chinna Yelasagiri area near Hosur.

Following the marriage, enmity erupted between the two families.
On Tuesday, Sowmiya’s relatives Venkatesh, 28, and Rajesh, 27, argued with Suresh and his relatives. On seeing this, Venkatesh’s relatives Harish, 28, and Manjunatha, 25, rushed to the spot. At one stage, both the sides started fighting with each other. During the clash, Harish received head injury while Manjunatha sustained stab injury in his chest.
Kamalakannan, who was witnessing the clash, attempted to separate the groups. But an unknown person stabbed Kamalakannan.
While all the victims were rushed to a nearby hospital, Kamalakannan died on the way to the hospital. “The rest were admitted to a private hospital in Bengaluru,” the Sipcot police said. Police registered a case and launched the search for the accused.
