Telangana emerged as the overall champion at the 68th All India Police Duty Meet (AIPDM) clinching win in three categories (Scientific Aid to Investigation, Anti Sabotage check and AP CMs trophy) and runners up position in one category (Dog Squad) while
Tamil Nadu won in three categories (Police Videography, Police Photography and NCRB Trophy for IT).
Host Jharkhand could manage to enter the honour board by emerging runners up in ‘Scientific Aid to Investigation' category sharing the position with Andhra Pradesh.
The week-long event, which commenced on February 10, witnessed participation from 1,228 personnel representing 18 states, two union territories, and eight para-military forces. There were nine categories to compete of which seven were events and two trophies. Jharkhand fielded 55 participants.
During the prize distribution ceremony, finance minister Radha Krishana Kishore expressed pride in Jharkhand hosting the AIPDM for the first time. He highlighted the state's improved law and order situation, noting that left-wing extremism is now limited to only five percent of the state. "The extremists would be completely eradicated if police establishes better communication with people," he added.
