Prime accused in rly dump firing case held

Bokaro: District police arrested Vinay Singh (29), also known as Bittu Singh or Bittu Nepali, the prime accused in the 2022 Railway Dump Yard firing case, nearly three years after the incident. "The arrest took place on Wednesday in Ranchi, following a tip-off," said Navin Singh, the officer in charge of Balidih police station on Thursday.
"Vinay has a criminal history. He was arrested from Kishore Ganj in Ranchi. The firing occurred on August 29, 2022, during the auction process of railway wagon cutting at the dump yard to instil fear and disrupt the proceedings," he said.
Earlier, five accused - Rohit Singh, Pintu Verma, Tabarak Ansari, Rohit Verma, and Laldev Mahato - were arrested and sent to jail. Singh is a known associate of the notorious Sunny Singh gang, currently lodged in Ranchi's Birsa Munda central Jail.
