Jewellery worth Rs 8 lakh looted
RAJKOT: A jeweller was looted of gold and silver jewellery, worth Rs 8 lakh, in Karanpara Chowk locality of Rajkot on Tuesday night.
Mahesh Vajani (56), a resident of Digvijay Plot in Jamnagar, was looted by three unidentified men when he was talking with his friend Ramesh Bhuva. Their common friend, Ajay Soni, had gone to take Vajani’s car in which they were to travel to Jamnagar.
Suddenly, robbers arrived on a bike and one of them picked up the bag containing jewellery and they sped away.

“When we checked CCTV footage from Kothariya Naka in Soni Bazaar to Karanpara Chowk, we found that the robbers were following the victims since the time they had left their shops. Vajani used to bring jewellery from Jamnagar to Soni Bazaar for polishing,” said Rajkot A-Division inspector N K Jadeja.
