PUNE: The police station of Maharashtra Industries Development Corporation (MIDC) Bhosari arrested two persons, accused in separate murder cases, with a country made pistol and a live cartridge on them on July 5.
Deputy commissioner of police (DCP) of zone III Shahji Umap on Saturday announced a cash prize of Rs 3,000 for the police team that arrested Yogesh Jadhav and Dongrya Rathod, both residents of Bhosari.
Police said that Jadhav was released on bail a month ago after being arrested in a murder case.
Rathod, who is an accused in the Santosh Shetty murder case, was released on bail two months ago. Jadhav and Rathod are friends with another accused Mangesh Salunke, who was also released on bail in a murder case.
Jadhav, along with Rathod and Salunke, had gone the former's father Rama's house at 1.30am on July 5. Jadhav questioned his father about his decision to transfer the house to the former's name. The trio started assaulting Rama. Yogesh's step-brother intervened and tried to save his father. Rama Jadhav taking advantage of it slipped away and went to the terrace of the house and dialed 100 to call up the police control room. The police from MIDC police station on night patrol alongwith the marshalls in Moshi rushed to the spot.
Salunke fled from the spot when the police arrived at the house. The police arrested Yogesh Jadhav and Rathod and lodged complaints under section 452, 506(2) and 323 of Indian Penal Code(IPC).
