A press conference to announce the audio books was held on Wednesday at Maharashtra Sahitya Parishad.
Both Dilip Prabhavalkar and Aruna Dhere were present at the press conference on Wednesday.
The audio books contain more than 38 articles from selected books by the legendary writer.
These books include ‘Ek Shunya Me’ and ‘Apulki’ written by Deshpande and ‘Ahe Manohar Tari’ , ‘Soyre Sakal’ , ‘Priya G.A’ and ‘Manatla Avkash’ written by Sunita Deshpande.
Actor and writer Chinmay Mandlekar, the director Digpal Lanjekar, Pramod Pawar, Vikram Gaikwad and Harish Dudhade are other male voices for the audio format.

Dhere has lent her voice for ‘Ahe Manohar Tari’ , ‘Soyre Sakal’ , ‘Priya G.A.’
And the actor Shubhangi Gokhale has also given the voice over for ‘Manatla Avkash’.
Prabhavalkar said, “Many people know Deshpande as a humourist. But he was a thinker, litterateur and ‘Ek Shunya Me’ is a reflection of that. While I was lending my voice for the audio book I was also a reader and I was excited about it. On the other hand, I had a huge responsibility of bringing this aspect of Deshpande to readers in an effective way. It was a good experience because of the richness yet simplicity of the language.”
Dhere said audio formats unfurl a different aspect of the relationship between words, pronunciations and language.
