Masters of classical music to take over the city from today

The Swarazankar music festival is a four day event that will be held at Pandit Farms on D P Road in Pune from January 5-8. It will start at 5pm and will feature stalwarts from Indian classical music. The event will kick off with a performance by vocalist Meeta Pandit, an exponent of the Gwalior Gharana. She will be followed by Santoor player Rahul Sharma, who is the son and disciple of Pandit Shivkumar Sharma, National Award-winning vocalist. Rahul Deshpande will also present his show “YouTube Collectives.” Other performances include vocalist Nabanita Chowdhary, trio Selvaganesh Pandit, Atulkumar Upadhye, and Ustad Shahid Parvez. The event will conclude with a Ghazal recital by Hariharan.

Pune: A four-day music festival titled SwaraZankar, organized by the Violin Academy, would be held from January 5 to 8 at Pandit Farms on DP Road. It will begin at 5pm and will feature stalwarts from Indian classical music.
Kick-starting the musical extravaganza is a performance by vocalist Meeta Pandit, an exponent of Gwalior Gharana, followed by santoor player Rahul Sharma, who is the son and disciple of Pandit Shivkumar Sharma.
