Happy Streets brings joy to Kothrud
Pune: Kothrud on Sunday morning buzzed with excitement as the second edition of Happy Streets brought vibrant music, energetic dance, interactive sports with many activities. The event held on DP Road from Surajnagar to Ashish Garden Chowk, saw one roadside closed for traffic, creating a safe vehicle free zone for participants to enjoy the activities.
Organized by The Times of India and Maharashtra Times, and sponsored by Kolte Patil, Happy Streets is a free- for-all event designed to engage people of all ages, promising to be a regular weekend celebration of community spirit.
Prisha Marathe who is a Garware college student, was here to enjoy the Sunday morning. "We like to play various sports. We feel free to play whatever we fancy, and everybody cooperates when someone is playing. The general feel of the place is nice," said Prisha. Satish Gupta, with his family, came from Warje to take part in Happy Streets and enjoyed the programmes till the last song at Zumba. "We participated in this event last year too and we were waiting for when it would be held here again. We love to sing and dance. This is a platform where we can do both," he said.
