Buxar: Shahabad range DIG Satya Prakash on Friday said beat policing would be implemented in both urban and rural areas of the district for effective crime control. Beat policing is a strategy that divides a police station's jurisdiction into designated areas, or beats, with specific officers assigned to each.
Speaking at a function after inaugurating the new office of the Buxar SP on the upper floor of the collectorate building, the DIG said, "Once beat policing is implemented, the designated officers will be held accountable for incidents such as robbery, theft and other crimes. Action will be taken against them if negligence is found."
He added that strict measures would be taken against police officers who show carelessness in handling long-pending cases. The DIG asked the officers to fulfill their duties promptly to improve policing in the district.
Earlier, the DIG inspected the police lines, where he was first given a guard of honour. Following this, he took the salute of the parade and closely examined the turnout of police personnel. He asked the officers to maintain proper uniforms, work with dedication and interact cordially with the public.
The DIG also held a meeting with Buxar DM Anshul Aggarwal and SP Shubham Arya to review security arrangements for the CM's Pragati Yatra, scheduled to take place in the district on Feb 15.
