Patna: BJP state president Dilip Kumar Jaiswal on Sunday said Congress is fighting for its existence in Bihar and the visit of its top netas, including party president
Mallikarjun Kharge in Buxar on Sunday, was part of the efforts being made by Congress neta
Rahul Gandhi in that direction.
He also said Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM) has identified 36 assembly seats in Jamui, Banka and other border areas of Bihar to contest the coming election due in Oct-Nov this year. RJD and Congress are allies of JMM in Jharkhand and may ask for seats in Bihar to contest as part of the Grand Alliance, which already has six partners with RLJP of former Union minister Pashupati Kumar Paras in waiting.
Jaiswal also alleged that RJD was trying to prevent the Congress from finding support in the state and Rahul Gandhi understood it when he himself said there was a conspiracy to weaken Congress in Bihar.
Commenting on the Buxar rally addressed by Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge on Sunday, Jaiswal said Rahul first sent former JNUSU president Kanhaiya Kumar to undertake ‘Palayan roko, naukri do' padyatra in the state. When Kanhaiya flopped, Rahul sent Kharge. "Kharge forgot that he was in Bihar and raised issues of Delhi politics," he said.
On RJD neta Tejashwi Prasad's allegation of corruption in govt offices, the BJP chief said, "I have requested his father Lalu Prasad to first return the fodder scam money to the state exchequer and then talk about anything."
He said NDA is intact and strong in Bihar and will form govt again.
