Jewellery worth over Rs 9.8 lakh stolen from bungalow in Nashik
Nashik: Jewellery worth more than Rs 9.8 lakh was stolen from a house in Anandwali, Gangapur Road area. Following a complaint, the Gangapur police registered a case of theft against an unidentified burglar.
Police said the theft occurred between April 30 and May 1. The complainant reported that an unidentified person entered his house by breaking the latch and lock of the entrance door, and stole the jewellery kept in a wooden cupboard.
The complainant said the unidentified burglar managed to open the safe inside the wooden cupboard with the help of some equipment and stole the pouch containing 11 gold jewellery items.
The Gangapur police noted that the bungalow where the theft took place is very close to another bungalow, which is vacant. An unidentified thief committed the burglary over two days when the complainant and his family members were away from the house.
Police said they would check if there are any CCTV cameras installed in the area to see if they can find any clues.
