Trust gifts 1,000 poor kids school kits, brings smile
Nagpur: Helplink Charitable Trust brought smiles on the faces of nearly 1,000 underprivileged children from 16 schools with its drive Child Adoption For Education (CAFE), on Saturday. Under the initiative, the kids received a school kit each with 12 essential items like two sets of uniform, shoes, socks, bag, notebooks, umbrella, stationery etc.
The programme was held at Rani Kothi Banquet Hall, Civil Lines. Chairman of Raisoni Group of Institutions Sunil Raisoni, chairman of Confidence Petroleum India Ltd Nitin Khara, managing director of Plasto Tanks and Pipes Pvt Ltd Vishal Agrawal, chairman and managing director of MMP Industries Arun Bhandari, president of Jain Club Sunil Parakh, president of Mahaveer International Vira Sarda, founder trustee of CAFE Hemant Lodha were the guests.
Members of Mahaveer International sang a prayer and the guests lit the traditional lamp to commence the programme on a pious note. In his welcome address, Lodha gave the background of how the inception of CAFE came into place. He added, “I chose to contribute for the education of kids because they are the future of this nation. When they receive the basic necessities, they are inspired to continue their education and not drop out of school due to lack of facilities.” He noted that in the last 12 years, CAFE has donated around 30,000 school kits with the cooperation of 50 mentor organizations.
The guests applauded the members for their efforts towards the uplift of student fraternity and empowering rural India. Khara said, “I salute the whole team engaged in this noble cause. This is not an insignificant endeavour as it requires an investment of time and effort.” Adding to the adulation, Bhandari said, “The work that CAFE has done under the leadership of Hemant is an eye opener for the general public. Spreading knowledge through this cause is the first step towards nation building.”
“India has had a rich history of educating children through different media. CAFE intends to carry on this legacy by reaching every single child with this school kit,” said Raisoni. Encouraging collaboration, Parakh said, “A number of organizations can work together to contribute towards the comprehensive education of students.”
Sarda said that its like giving back to the society.
