NAGPUR: Sanjay Surkar, an eminent personality of Marathi cinema, plans to make a debut in Bollywood with his upcoming film 'Standby'. The film is based on a unique plot that shows dirty politics in the field of sports. Surkar has tried to convey through this movie that a high adrenalin game like football is ignored today in our country. There are more cricket lovers and other sports have gone underground.
Surkar, a four-time national award winning director of many successful Marathi films, chose the offbeat issue of keeping sports clean.

He said, "This film is a breed apart as the issue of politics intertwined with sports has not yet been directed or brought to fore through cinema."
"It is a big budget movie and is my debut in Hindi cinema. Today sports federations are ruled by politicians which hinder many sportsmen's careers" he added.
Prakash Choube, producer of the film, said that the star cast has new faces to draw more attention to the content of the film. He said, "The message conveyed through the film is of importance than the stars. People should identify with characters they portray on screen." The movie's release is due for August 19.
