Nagpur: City-based DJ and music producer Mayank Vidhani put Nagpur on the global music map by securing a spot in the Top 10 at the prestigious WAVES Summit 2025, scheduled to be held in Mumbai from May 1 to 4. The World Audio Visual and Entertainment Summit (WAVES), supported by the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, received over 500 international entries, making Mayank's selection a significant achievement.
The summit will feature global tech and media leaders, including Adam Mosseri (CEO, Instagram), Satya Nadella (CEO, Microsoft), Sundar Pichai (CEO, Google), Sheryl Sandberg (former COO, Facebook), and Rajiv Bansal (Secretary, Civil Aviation).
Son of Harish and Hema of Kukreja Nagar, Jaripatka, Mayank is a pass out of Centre Point School and Tirpude Institute of Management Education. Mayank's musical journey began in Nagpur, where he was introduced to rhythm through the tabla. Over the years, he evolved into an EDM (electronic dance music) artist known for his bass-heavy remixes and genre-blending productions across drum & bass, dubstep, and house.
His recognition at an international platform like WAVES is a proud moment for Nagpur's emerging music community. "Coming from a smaller city, making it to a global stage like this feels surreal. It shows that talent and hard work can break all boundaries," Mayank shared.
As EDM gains traction across India, Mayank's success story stands as an inspiration for aspiring artists from non-metro cities. His rise reflects not just personal triumph, but also the growing cultural pulse of Nagpur in India's expanding creative landscape.
