NAGPUR: The aura of the era gone by came to life as musical ensemble ‘Tum Jo Mil Gaye Ho’ enthralled audience at Scientific Society Hall, Laxmi Nagar on Saturday.
The musical show was jointly organized by Khandekar Orchestra group and Nupur Sangeet to celebrate love and its various shades which colour our everyday, mundane life.
The show began with the rendition of Sarasvati vandana and recitation of Ganesh mantra ‘Vakratunda Mahakaya’.

The evening commenced with ‘Aane se uss ke aaye bahar’ by Milind Koratkar. Following this, romantic hit ‘Dar de dil dar de jigar’ was presented by Abhay Pande. ‘Tumse milna’, sung by Mushtaq Sheikh, ‘Dil to hai dil’ by Pushpa Joge, ‘Tum jo mil gaye ho’ by Rachana Pathak and ‘Neele neele ambar par’ by Abhay Pandey were well-received.
The highlight of the first half of the evening was a medley of six songs presented by Mamta Khandekar that included ‘Tere liye palkon ki’, ‘Tum saamne baithe raho’, ‘Duri na rahe koi’, ‘kya jaaun sajan’, ‘Mere jeevan saathi’ and ‘Mere dil me halki si’.
Duet performances in the second half of the programme made the spectators sway their heads to the lilting music as a few audience favourites like ‘Wada raha sanam’, sung by Sheikh and Khandekar, ‘Tumse mil ke’ by Pande and Joge and ‘Aaj kal tere mere pyar’ by Pathak and Pande were presented.

Anchor Mahesh Tiwari entertained the audience with trivia and anecdotes associated with the songs being presented.
The accompanying artistes were Pavan Manvatkar (keyboard), Prakash Chouhan (guitar), Raghunandan Parsatwar (congo and dholak), Ashok Thavre (drums) and Akshay Harle (octopad).
Earlier, the traditional lamp was lit by Dr Vitthalrao Dandge, managing director of Rachna Hospital, Butibori, music conductor Maithili Magare, Lalit Ambani, and Mamta and Rachna Khandekar.
