19 teams participate in quality progress seminar
Seminar on Quality Progress was held at Institution of Engineers, Nagpur Centre, North Ambazari Road, on Sunday
Nagpur: The 16th all-India seminar on Quality Progress, jointly organized by Institution of Engineers (India) and Shreyas Quality Management System saw 19 teams vying for top honours in various competitions. The two-day event was organized at Institution of Engineers Hall.
Chief engineer of Koradi Thermal Power Station Abhay Harne inaugurated the seminar in the presence of DP Mase, chairman of IE, and RR Lakhe, director of SQMS.

After the inaugural function, competitions of team events viz. Quality Circle, Kaizen, 6 sigma, 5S, and quality award were conducted where 19 teams from various organizations like CSTPS, KTPS, CUMI, Toyota Kirloskar, Adani Thermal Power station, NTPC Mouda, BHEL Haridwar participated. A research paper presentation was also conducted in two streams. The theme for the same was ‘Innovation and excellence in quality, productivity, environment, energy and safety’. 21 papers were presented during course of two days out of which 14 were research papers and seven case study. Other competitions like slogan and essay writing, poster making, etc were also held.
Superintending engineer of Aurangabad regional inspection circle, Energy and Labour Department Vinay Nagdeo was the chief guest of closing ceremony. Nagdeo, in his speech, praised the work of all the participants. He also stressed upon the importance of maintaining safety and quality in a person’s day to day life.
Dr Sanjay Uttarwar , Dr SV Deshmukh, Dr Arun Kedar, Dr CM Sedani, Dr Nitin Mandavgade, Dr Sachin Untawale and Dr SB Jaju were felicitated by the dignitaries for acquiring doctorate. Milind Pathak proposed the vote of thanks.
