Mysuru: Karnataka Exhibition Authority (KEA) chairman
Ayub Khan on Saturday extended thanks to
CM Siddaramaiah for releasing Rs 20 crore for the new features and facilities for visitors at Mysuru Dasara Exhibition grounds.
Speaking to reporters at his office, Khan said of the Rs 20 crore released, KEA planned the construction of a wooden replica of the Belur-Halebidu temple-like architecture model, besides setting up musical fountains by spending Rs 10 crore. It was also initiated to utilise the funds for the completion of all ongoing projects, improvement of UGD, parking, and opening additional stalls in addition to the existing 154 stalls, among other works. Before the start of this year's Dasara celebrations, all ongoing projects will be completed, he said.
As the CM also gave instructions to him to conduct exhibitions in Shivamogga, Ballari, Belagavi, and Hubballi, Khan said that KEA will hold discussions with the respective district deputy commissioners and will make all preparations to hold the events in the coming days.
His authority has also planned events to conduct throughout the year at the Dasara exhibition grounds to make it profitable, attracting visitors year-round.
He also replied that KEA collected the rent of Rs 5.5 lakh by renting the ground for the wedding of actor Dolly Dhananjaya the previous week.
