Thane to be India’s model dist: Shinde

Thane: With various infrastructure projects worth Rs 80,000 crore underway, Thane is set to transform into a model district for the entire nation, deputy chief minister Eknath Shinde said on Thursday.
At Maharashtra Day celebrations in Thane, where he also serves as guardian minister, Shinde outlined the district's transformation. "Thane is witnessing progress on over 34 major infrastructure projects — metro, coastal roads, and bullet train.... These projects will help position Thane not just as a leading district in the state but as a benchmark for the country...," he said.
