MUMBAI: Trouble broke out on board a
Kingfisher Airlines flight on Friday after a Bollywood actor assaulted a co-passenger, who happened to be a musician from the film industry.
According to sources, minutes after the flight landed in the city,
Inder Kumar punched the co-flier who had accused him of "trying to get cosy'' with the latter's female companion.
"The incident took place on board Kingfisher's Delhi-Mumbai flight IT-310.
About an hour into the flight, the Bollywood musician caught Inder Kumar getting too cosy with his partner. Subsequently, he objected to the actor's behaviour, only to enter into a heated argument with him,'' the source said. The flight attendants informed the commander about the situation on board, who in turn, decided to let the airline security handle the matter on landing in Mumbai airport.
"When the aircraft was about to land, the commander radioed the airline authorities asking for security personnel to be sent to the parking bay,'' said the source. "But tempers were flying high by then. We then saw Inder Kumar punching the co-passenger on his face which probably resulted in an injury,'' said the source.
"The CISF and airline security arrived by then and the co-passenger filed a complaint in the airport police station,'' said the source adding both went to the police station from there.
CISF and police officials could not be reached for comments despite repeated attempts. Kingfisher Airlines spokesperson declined to comment on the incident.
