Clash between two communities over burial spot, police use force to disperse crowd

Meerut: A scuffle erupted between members of two communities over the burial site in Defence Enclave region of the district's Kankerkhera block.
According to police sources, a woman resident of Naglatashi village, Nisha Bano (40), was being buried in a graveyard in the Defence enclave region on Thursday evening. The graveyard is adjacent to a Meerut Development Authority (MDA) land which was sold to a doctor.On getting the news of the burial, the doctor reached there along with a few BJP supporters.
Later, police reached the spot and disperse the crowd. Both sides have submitted a complaint in this connection. Subodh Kumar Saxena, station officer, Kankerkhera police station, said, "The situation is under control and the burial was conducted under police supervision. Investigation into the case is underway."
