Mangaluru: A youth got electrocuted when he was trying to repair the name board of an automobile electrical shop near Thokottu on Friday.
The deceased is Wilson Fernandes, 25. The incident took place when Wilson was attempting to set right the name board of Neslon Auto Electrical Works owned by his father.
The name board had got dislocated due to heavy rain.
After getting electrocuted, he collapsed and was rushed to a hospital that declared him brought dead. He was the son of Peter Abraham Fernandes, a resident of Permanur. A case has been registered at the Ullal police station.
Carpenter ends life
Dayananda,58, a resident of Kallapu, allegedly committed suicide by jumping into a well. Police said the victim had lost interest in work since the past two years.
Hanged himself in well
On Friday, between 10.15am and 11.30am, he used one side of the rope used in the well, attached to the pulley, to tie it around his neck and jumped into the well.
The fire and emergency services department staff recovered his body.
An unnatural death report has been registered at the Ullal police station.
