Students take quiz, poetry way to remember freedom fighters
Lucknow: More than 300 students participated in the quiz, poetry recitation and slogan writing competitions on revolutionary freedom fighters on the fourth day of the 7-day Shaheed Utsav (Martyrdom week) being organised by socio-cultural organisation, Dastak, and UP culture department on Wednesday at Guru Nanak Girls Degree College (GNGDC) and Techno Group of Institutions (TGI).
A photo exhibition based on the life of revolutionary freedom fighters Bhagat Singh, Sukhdev, Rajguru, Chandrashekhar Azad, Durga Bhabhi and Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose was also organised in both the colleges. Besides, Bhagat Singh's last letter to his young brother Kultar was read out in which he urged him to follow the path of freedom struggle.
Sakshi Mishra, a student of GNGDC said that the quiz was very informative. Shrishti Tiwari also from GNGDC, said, "The inspiring incidents from the life of Bhagat Singh motivated us to live truly for our motherland."
Prabal, a student of TGI, said, "All the martyrs sacrificed their lives to make our country free and now it's our responsibility to follow path shown by them."
Mohammad Safullah, also from TGI, said, "We should work for unity of the country and equality for all, which has been the soul of our freedom struggle."
On Thursday, an open discussion among theatre artist will be held at Sheroes cafe from 6pm while poster exhibitions, quizzes, poetry recitations, will be organised at various colleges as part of the week-long celebrations.
