Man arrested for objectionable posts against Modi, Yogi & Amit Shah
Lucknow: The Lucknow police arrested a man who posted objectionable content about Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath and home minister Amit Shah under the Mahigwan police station on Monday.
The accused posted photos of the PM, CM and many other BJP leaders along with AIMIM chief Asaduddin Owaisi's photo on Facebook to ridicule the BJP leaders. According to the police, 50-year-old Irfan Ali from Mazra Pur village in Paharpur was posting provocative content on Facebook for the last few days. The accused posted an edited photo of Owaisi.
Apart from this, he also posted derogatory photos of the PM, home minister, CM and Assam CM Himanta Biswa Sarma. The photos sparked anger among supporters of the BJP and they demanded strict action against the accused. The police began their search immediately after the public outcry. On Monday, the police located the accused and apprehended him.
SHO Mahigwan, Shiv Mangal Singh said a case was registered against the accused under relevant sections of BNS. The accused was arrested and produced in court and the police are now investigating other objectionable posts the accused posted. "We have learnt so far that the accused was only a class 10 pass out and was caretaker of a hotel," Singh added.
