LUCKNOW: Deputy CM Brajesh Pathak said construction of Khalsa Chowk in Alambagh would be expidited. He was speaking on the occasion of Khalsa Sajna Diwas at Gurdwara Naka Hindola on Friday.
"The Chowk is being built in reverence to Khalsa Panth. The government is walking hand in hand with the community and I am here as a member of your religious family," he said.
The chants of 'Waheguruji ka Khalsa, Waheguruji ki Fateh' reverberated throughout the day in gurdwaras. Hajuri Ragi Rajinder Singh performed Asa di Vaar kirtan followed by Gyani Sukhdev Singh narrating a story related to Baisakhi. Later, Ragi Jatha led by Sukhjinderpal Singh from Amritsar and Surjeet Singh presented Shabad Kirtans.
In gurdwara Alambagh, Ragi Jatha led by Danish Singh (Dehradun) presented shabad kirtans and Gyani Jagjeet Singh from Amritsar narrated the story of Baisakhi. The diwan at Gurdwara Yahiyaganj began with the Path of five banis and Sukhmani Sahib. Asa ki Vaar kirtan was performed by Nirbhay Singh (Amritsar) and Kulwant Singh (Delhi). Shabad kirtans were also held.
