Aparna Yadav reviews facilities for women, kids at hosp, shelter homes
Lucknow: Vice-chairperson of the Uttar Pradesh State Women's Commission and BJP functionary Aparna Yadav conducted the inspection of several key women and child welfare institutions in Lucknow on Tuesday.
She assessed the facilities and addressed issues related to women's safety, rehabilitation, and welfare.
Yadav visited Jhalkari Bai Women's Hospital, district women's shelter home and state children's shelter home on Prag Narayan Road, and Balika Grih in Para. She reviewed the living conditions, food arrangements, access to education and health facilities for children and women.
She also chaired a review meeting at the auditorium at Lok Bandhu Hospital which was attended by officials of the women welfare department and other district-level officers. The discussion focused on resolving cases of gender-based violence and strengthening mechanisms for support, rehabilitation, and empowerment of affected women.
Later, she inspected the Lucknow Women's Jail where she interacted with inmates. She directed officials to link inmates with skill-based small industries for income generation. She also raised awareness about govt schemes available for children of incarcerated women and directed staff to facilitate access.
