A catalyst for eco growth: Industries
Lucknow: Terming the Union Budget a "catalyst for growth", the CII said the Budget presented a forward-looking roadmap for India's economic transformation, with a strong push for innovation, entrepreneurship, and infrastructure development.
"The enhanced support for MSMEs, focus on skill development, and urban transformation initiatives will be instrumental in driving industrial growth and job creation, particularly in the northern region," chairperson of CII-UP Smita Agarwal said.
Vice-chairperson Dr Upasana Arora said that expansion of IITs, addition of 10,000 medical seats, and establishment of AI Centres of Excellence would ensure a highly skilled workforce for economy.
Chairman, CII-Northern Region, Madhav Singhania said, "The Budget reflects a pragmatic and forward-looking vision fostering a resilient and globally competitive economy. A comprehensive programme for vegetables, fruits, and Shri Anna (millets) will go a long way in ensuring the much-needed agriculture diversification to high-value crops while meeting the need for nutritional security and improved income opportunities for farmers."
He added that by prioritising private sector investment and strengthening MSME ecosystem, the Budget paved the way for sustained industrial growth and job creation.
CII-Northern Region, Sunjay Kapur saidthe Budget will create a robust framework for industries across solar PV, electrolysers, and grid-scale batteries."
Meanwhile, UP State Council of industry body Ficci, in collaboration with UP Aadarsh Vyapaar Mandal, organised live budget viewing session on Saturday.
Chairman of UP State Council Manoj Gupta said, "Through the budget, the govt made a strong effort to address immediate challenges being faced by the economy, particularly on the consumption front, while keeping an eye on long-term target of pursuing the vision of ‘Viksit Bharat'."Members of Ficci-UP complimented the finance minister for "comprehensive, inclusive, and forward-looking budget that encompasses a heavy dose of reforms, fiscal stimulus, and a clear focus on the farm sector, MSMEs, youth, and women".The budget proposals will re-energise the economy by lifting the sentiments of the middle class and nudging the private sector to advance its investment plans as demand improves across sectors," said Gupta."The changes brought about in the personal income tax structure are noteworthy and will leave more money in the hands of the people, translating into higher consumption demand," he added.
