KOLKATA: Bengal's bards will soon have their space in the virtual world. With a website on poet Shakti Chattopadhyay nearly ready, a few culture stalwarts are planning to launch a series on the state's best known writers.

With a website on poet Shakti Chattopadhyay nearly ready, a few culture stalwarts are planning to launch a series on the state’s best known writers.
The website www.shaktichattopadhyay. net, which offers details about the life and works of the poet, will be inaugurated by chief minister Buddhadeb Bhattacharjee on Tuesday, the 70th birth anniversary of the poet.

Designed by an NGO associated with poetry, Abriti Lok, and the technical support of Reliance, the site is the first one of its kind on a Bengali poet.
“We are planning sites on other Bengali poets. Shaktida was a colourful character and his representation of life was as colourful as the person himself,� said Soumitra Mitra of Abitri Lok.
