Two booked for defacing Ambedkar statue

Times News NetworkKanpur: Two people were booked for defacing and damaging the statue of Baba Saheb BR Ambedkar in Sachendi area of the district. A statue of Dr Ambedkar is situated by the highway in front of KS Inter College in Chakarpur, Sachendi. On Sunday night, some miscreants defaced the statue with paint and damaged it. On Monday morning, when locals became aware of the damage, they staged a protest. On being informed, the police officials arrived at the scene and managed to calm the situation by talking to the crowd. They got repaired the statue and filed a case against two people on a complaint by locals. A search was launched to nab the miscreants. Station in-charge Dinesh Singh Bisht stated that a report was filed against Dharmveer Tiwari and Bauwa Bhadauria on the accusations made by the people.
