Jhansi: An exhibition of paintings by a grade four employee of UP police was inaugurated on Thursday at the state museum by Jhansi SSP Sudha Singh. The event was graced by senior administrative officials, including divisional commissioner Bimal Dubey, DIG range Keshav Kumar Chaudhary, DM Avinash Kumar, and municipal commissioner Satya Prakash, along with other senior officials and socialites.
The one-day exhibition showcased fourteen paintings by forty-seven-year-old Ramdev, a grade four employee who joined UP police in 1997 as a tradesman. He possessed an innate talent and passionate interest in painting, which he cultivated during his spare time away from his job. While many admired his artistic abilities, it was SSP Singh who made the effort to provide his work proper recognition.
The SSP encouraged Ramdev, who created fourteen paintings encompassing various subjects, including traditional forms like Chiteri and Madhubani, alongside modern art. The paintings displayed at the art gallery received substantial appreciation. Commissioner Dubey praised the initiative, emphasising that such innate talents should be fostered and encouraged. He commended the SSP's efforts and urged visitors to purchase the artworks.
