Jhunjhunu: Sikar Udyog Nagar police solved a robbery case within 48 hours, arresting two suspects, one of whom is an army man. ASP Prashant Kiran said the arrested suspect, Nandu Singh Shekhawat from Singhasan, is serving in the army. The other suspect is Ravindra Kumar from Sanjhasar. The search for a third suspect is ongoing.
Police said, complainant Sunil Kumar, from Tajsar, was heading to Kalyan Circle from his residence near Krishna Gas on Feb 12. Three individuals were lying in wait in an alley behind the CLC. As Sunil Kumar passed by on his bike, the assailants attacked him with a helmet, and when he fell, they snatched his bag and fled on a bike.
Police reviewed hundreds of CCTV footage from all possible routes around the crime scene. IPS ASP Prashant Kiran mentioned that Udyog Nagar police station officer Manoj Kumar arrested the suspect Nandu Singh from Reengus. During questioning, Nandu revealed that his accomplice, Ravindra alias Bittu from Sanjhasar Ramgarh, was staying at Rahul's rented house in Reengus.
When the team reached Rahul's house, Ravindra attempted to escape by jumping from the second-floor balcony but was apprehended by the team. Due to injuries, he was admitted to the Government Shri Kalyan Hospital in Sikar for treatment and was arrested on Feb 14 after being discharged. The police are actively searching for the third suspect and expect to apprehend him soon.
Kiran said multiple cases are registered against both arrested suspects in various police stations. Udyog Nagar police are interrogating the suspects. It was revealed during questioning that Nandu Singh Shekhawat, who is serving in the army, has four cases against him and was on a 40-day leave, due to return to duty on Feb 22. The other suspect, Ravindra, has nine cases registered against him in different police stations.
