Jaipur. Sixty-four police officers and personnel were decorated with medals at Rajasthan Police Academy (RPA) here Monday. DGP U R Sahoo conferred the Union Home Minister's Medal for Excellence in Investigation, Utkrisht Seva Padak, Ati Utkrisht Seva Padak, and the DGP Disc during the ceremony, which began with a ceremonial parade led by IPS officer Jatin Jain.
The event featured a parade with eight platoons, including contingents from the 4th and 5th battalions of Rajasthan Armed Constabulary (RAC), women personnel from Jaipur Commissionerate, traffic police, the Hadi Rani Women Battalion from Ajmer, and the Emergency Response Team of the 5th Battalion RAC.
During the ceremony, Sahoo congratulated the awardees and praised their dedication, urging them to continue serving with enthusiasm and commitment. He highlighted the importance of such recognition in motivating the force to uphold the highest standards of professionalism.
Eight officers received the Union Home Minister's Medal for Excellence in Investigation, including DIG Gaurav Yadav, DCP Amit Kumar, and ACP Gumanaram. The medal for late police inspector Amit Sihag was presented to his wife, Santosh Choudhary, in an emotional moment that drew applause.
Several senior officers were honoured with the DGP Disc, including director general of Anti-Corruption Bureau Ravi Prakash Meharda and director general of intelligence, Sanjay Agarwal. Ati Utkrisht Seva Padak was awarded to 11 officers, while six others were recognised with Utkrisht Seva Padak. The ceremony concluded with a salute to the decorated officers.
