HYDERABAD: Breaking the long silence after her suspension from the party, Medak MP
Vijayashanti on Sunday lambasted the
Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) leaders for hatching a plot to finish her politically. In a veiled attack on the TRS chief K Chandrashekar Rao, the actress-turned-politician said some of the top party leaders were waiting for her 'death'.
"The top line TRS leaders want my death.
But I will not die. By the blessings of the people of my constituency, I will remain strong to give the conspirators a fitting reply," Vijyashanti told a gathering in Medak on Sunday.
While it is being speculated that KCR would migrate from his Mahbubnagar Lok Sabha constituency to Medak in the upcoming polls, Vijayashanti hinted at entering the fray as the Congress candidate from Medak.
"We are hearing that KCR wants to contest from Medak. In that case, it would be a very interesting contest as Vijayashanti is almost certain to seek re-election on a Congress ticket," said a source close to the MP.
Trouble in the TRS started last year with the news of KCR wanting to contest from Medak and asking Vijayashanti to run for the assembly. However, Vijayashanti openly said she would not move out of her constituency and did not want to be an MLA.
She also moved closer to the Congress and called on Sonia Gandhi, following which KCR suspended her on charges of anti-party activities.
Although he took note of Vijyashanthi's outburst, KCR is understood to have decided to keep mum as he didn't want to react.
