'On heels of Bengaluru techie Atul Subhash's suicide': Tollywood cameraman ends life after wife's 'torture'
HYDERABAD: A Tollywood cameraman ended his life at his home in Krishna Nagar in Jubilee Hills on Monday allegedly due to torture by his wife. The couple, Mohammed Nawaz and Swetha Reddy Thada, had married in 2020.
While there was no suicide note, Nawaz's mother Sabera Begum, who filed the police complaint, said Swetha mentally and physically tortured her son, hired men to beat him up and starved him for days together. She had even threatened to call the cops if he refused her a share in their family-owned property and also demanded a large amount of cash, Sabera Begum said.
Sabera Begum said she last spoke to Nawaz on Sunday when he told her his intention to end his life as he could not bear the torture. She told police that Nawaz's last words to her were 'I cannot live like this. My wife might kill me'.
The incident comes close on the heels of suicides by Bengaluru-based techie Atul Subhash in Dec last year and TCS employee Manav Sharma in Feb this year.
