HYDERABAD: A 55-year-old man was arrested by the city police on Wednesday for allegedly raping his daughter repeatedly for the last few months.
The incest came to light on Wednesday when the 15-year-old girl lodged a complaint with the Falaknuma police that her father Omar Khan, a rickshaw puller, used to rape her in an inebriated state and threaten her with dire consequences if she disclosed it to her mother Farzana.

Falaknuma inspector Mohammed Taher Ali said Omar used to rape the girl when his wife and other children were away. Farzana is working as a domestic help while her three sons are employees of a workshop.
The girl used to attend the household work in the absence of her mother, the inspector said. Police registered cases under sections 376 (rape) and 507 (criminal intimidation) of IPC against Omar and sent the girl to the Government Maternity Hospital at Nayapul for examination.
