Cong, Gandhis will not be cowed down by ED cases: Bhatti
Hyderabad: The Telangana Congress on Thursday held a protest outside the Enforcement Directorate (ED) office in the city to protest the central agency's chargesheet naming Sonia Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi in the National Herald case.
Deputy CM Bhatti Vikramarka said that the Congress, the Nehru-Gandhi family and the National Herald, which contributed to the country's independence, will not be "cowed down" by such cases.
"The BJP is nothing compared to them. The BJP is scared because of pressure from Congress on issues of social justice and caste surveys," he said.
BC welfare minister Ponnam Prabhakar said that the rise of Rahul Gandhi has led the BJP to conspire against him in order to tarnish his image. He said that in contrast to the integrity of the Gandhi family, PM Modi and BJP have been selling national properties to Adani and Ambani. "When the BJP feels threatened, it tries to target Congress. This is purely a political conspiracy, but the people of country will stand with the Gandhi family," Prabhakar said. Tourism minister Jupally Krishna Rao said that BJP was tarnishing the image of Gandhi family in its bid to win next Lok Sabha elections.
"In the next Lok Sabha elections, Congress will come to power. To prevent this, the BJP is cooking up allegations and using ED," he said
