hyderabad: after covering 3,165 kilometres from bangalore at an average of over 90 kilometres per hour in seven days on a steel horse, prakruthi n banwasi arrived in hyderabad on wednesday morning. “it is about developing an attitude to be adventurous and for me adventure is first, but safety foremost,� banwasi said here on wednesday after completing a 271 km ride in 6 hours from vijayawada along with his navigator yogita madhu.
the biking duo stopped at hyderabad as part of their gruelling 12 day tvs fiero south india trail that would cover a total of 4,789 km and touch 32 cities. “i want to show people that biking is not dangerous, even at speeds in excess of 80 kilometres per hour, as long as the rider is mature, confident, has good riding skills, wears proper riding gear, a helmet and both man and machine are in complete harmony,� he added. prakruthi practised his skills for months together in an effort to bring down his travel time. prakruthi, a law graduate from the national law school and a freelance journalist, has covered 1,023 km from bangalore to mumbai in eleven hours and 46 minutes. yogita madhu, his navigator from bangalore and an avid adventurer, said she was looking forward to an all india tvs trail along with prakruthi. “he trusts his bike and i trust him,� she said. “we may write a travelogue after the experience that has been enriching and very satisfying,� prakruthi said.
