Zakir Nadaf selected for Abhinaya Bharati Award

Dharwad: Theatre activist Zakir Nadaf has been selected for the Abhinaya Bharati annual award for 2025. Abhinaya Bharati, an amateur theatre group, has been promoting theatre for last three decades and has been presenting awards to theatre activists who have done yeomen service for the development of theatre. Chi V S V Prasad, a contractor, will present the award during a function to be held on Thursday at 10.30am at Zilla Sahitya Parishad Sabha Bhavan in Dharwad while Krishna Katti will deliver a lecture on ‘Political Awareness in Sanskrit Dramas'. Nadaf has a Diploma in Engineering and has undergone NTTF training for his career. He has won public acclaim in amateur plays such as ‘Kadadida Neeru' "Daari Yavudayya Vaikunthake', ‘Vasanshi Jeernani' and ‘Gulamana Swatantra Yatra', Udbhava', ‘Mricchakatika' and ‘Hucchara Kanasu'. He has also directed music for some plays.
