Hubballi: The services of the following express special trains have been extended. The service of Train No. 07325 SSS Hubballi–Tanjavur Weekly Summer Express Special, which was earlier notified to run every Monday up to June 26, will be further extended from July 3 to 31. Train No. 07326 Tanjavur – SSS Hubballi Weekly Summer Express Special, which was earlier notified to run every Tuesday up to June 27, will be further extended from July 4 to August 1.

Train No. 06545 Yesvantpur - Vijayapura Daily Express Special, which was earlier notified to run every day up to June 30, will be extended up to September 29. Train No. 06546 Vijayapura - Yesvantpur Daily Express Special, which was earlier notified to run every day up to July 1, will be further extended up to September 30. Train Nos. 07379/07380 Kulem -Vasco-da-Gama- Kulem DEMU Special trains will be cancelled from June 19 to June 30, due to railway track-related work. Due to a line block, Train No. 11305 Solapur - Gadag Daily Express, departing from Solapur on June 19, will be regulated for 90 minutes en route.
Rare liver procedure
Hubballi: Suchirayu Hospital has claimed that its doctors have successfully performed a rare transjugular intrahepatic portosystemic shunt (TIPSS) procedure. Dr Sandeep Kumbar, a surgeon, said that a 31-year-old patient was diagnosed with cirrhosis of the liver for a year and had frequent fluid retention in the abdomen and legs. “TIPSS bypass stunting in the liver itself gives them strength to withstand major surgery. After reviewing it, a very difficult treatment was done,” he added. He said such an attempt of TIPSS procedure, conducted with the cooperation of other department doctors, is the first case in North Karnataka.
2 killed, 1 hurt in accident
Belagavi: Two persons were killed and a seer was seriously injured in a car accident that took place near Kakati on the outskirts of Belagavi on Puna-Bengaluru National Highway-4, on Saturday. The deceased were identified as Pandurang Jadhav, 76, from Devalwadi in Kolhapur district and Panchakshari Viraktamath, 28, a car driver from Karakanatti. The injured, Kadasiddheshwar Swamiji of Shivapur village in Belagavi taluk ,was on his way to Belagavi to participate in a protest organised by Vishwa Hindu Parishad and Bajrang Dal, against the decision of the state cabinet to withdraw the anti-conversion law.
