Maha Shivratri, students from Chatribari, Guwahati, crafted an impressive artwork of Lord Shiva utilising over 50,000 rubber stamps on canvas. Under the guidance of distinguished artist and instructor Rahul Pareek, the piece creates an optical illusion, with stamps bearing ‘Har Har Mahadev' collectively forming magnificent portraits of Lord Shiva when observed from afar.
The sizeable creation, spanning 3 feet in height and 9 feet in width, reached completion on Tuesday following a fortnight of work. The collaborative endeavour by 12 gifted pupils demonstrates their artistic prowess, inventiveness and commitment. This exceptional piece has emerged as an exemplar of collaboration, captivating art enthusiasts throughout Guwahati and surrounding regions. These young creators study at Rahul Pareek Art Academy situated in Chatribari, Guwahati.
Rahul Pareek, a distinguished Indian artist, educator and social media personality from Dhubri, Assam, is recognised for his mastery across diverse artistic mediums, including string art, e-waste art, pencil shading and experimental works and extensive artistic ventures, continues to motivate budding artists to explore creative possibilities. This Lord Shiva artwork comprising 50,000 rubber stamps represents another significant achievement in his artistic career, embodying devotion and ingenuity whilst highlighting collaborative spirit. Pareek informed TOI, "Along with my students we have created this artwork with ‘Har Har Mahadev' stamp. It took us two weeks to complete. However, the artwork will be kept in the academy itself."
The contributing students include Ishaan Kumar Daga, Shanvi Harlalka, Reeva Agarwal, Keyur Mittal, Arnab Bucha, Raisha Gangwal, Lavanya Gangwal, Harsh Jain, Reeti Maskara, Pahale Goel, Bikash Barman and Pankaj Mahato. Each participant devoted time and energy to carefully apply every stamp, resulting in this remarkable artistic creation.
