Lengpui Airport handover: Talks with HM soon

Aizawl: Mizoram chief minister Lalduhoma on Thursday said Union home minister Amit Shah suggested to him to find ways and means to reach an agreement with the airport authority of India (AAI) on the issue of handing over the lone Lengpui airport in Mizoram to AAI which he said was agreed between them.
Lalduhoma said it was agreed with Shah that he and civil aviation minister will hold discussion on the issue at a earliest convenient time on handing over the Lengpui airport to the AAI. "As I have stated earlier, our intention is not only to hand over the Lengpui airport to the Indian air force (IAF) and that we are also exploring other venues, and open to other options," he said, adding that he feels Shah is keen to take up the airport issue in earnest.
